WAllahi I appreciate that advice.. WAllahi...
But I do not think he was saying that we should 'prefer' one imam over another, Allahu Alem it seems like he is saying that imams who grew up in Canada can relate well with the Canadians and understand their problems far better than a non-native Canadian.

Imagine an imam from Canada born and lived 30 or 40 years in Canada, and then moved to Pakistan. Do you think he would understand the local problems and issues?

PS: If anyone wants to read some Quran, here is a nice app 4 u: http://www.lightuponlight.com/QuranReader/

Just because someone comes from another country does not mean that they cannot relate to the people. this ummah is one and i would not prefer one Imam over another based on race or country of orgin. Also, i myself am a college student majoring in health science, science is extremely important and the Quran talks alot about it. yes, we should make time to study our religious doctrine but i would think that science is apart of the whole and not something seperate. it is all about finding a balance.
