Raging and Roaring

We all know hell fire is a great and most terrible punishment. But do you know the characteristics the fire has? Prepare to shiver and be shaken by some very powerful verses from Surah Furqan. Indeed this reminder is sufficient for us to have taqwa of Allah, and as Allah describes: The believers are only those who, when Allah is mentioned, feel a fear in their hearts and when His Verses are recited unto them, they increase their Faith; and they put their trust in their Lord (8:2)

No Matter What…

Asalamu 'alaikum,
Time comes and goes; some people grow, some people remain exactly same throughout time.
وَالْعَصْرِ
By the Time!
إِنَّ الْإِنسَانَ لَفِي خُسْرٍ
Indeed! Mankind is in loss
Thus, Allah makes clear that by the passing time man is in complete loss. Why? Because they don't take heed, they don't learn, they don't listen, they go on doing what their [...]

The Reading Light: Importance of Tafseer

Imagine receiving a very urgent letter from a king in the middle of the night, and not having a reading light or lamp to read it. How would you feel? Would you know what this important letter contains?
This is the parable that an early scholar compared to the one who does not learn tafseer of the Qur'an...as having received a letter from The King, and not having a reading light to extract the message. In this post you will learn why tafseer is important and what the early scholars have stated in relation to this subject.

If Only …

Have you ever wondered "if only" the people of this world knew how serious hell fire was? How would they act? Have you ever wondered why the scholars, sahaba and righteous people are so scared of hell fire, and why you don't feel that fear?
The answers are in the Qur'an. This posts discusses what would happen "if only" the disbelievers knew the punishment, and it gives the righteous slaves of Allah a warning and an admonition to fear Him.

You Can Do It

My brothers and sisters in Islam, know that the Muslim is one who never gives up in anything that he or she does. O People! Know that the one who submits himself to Allah, should never feel like he or she does not have the capabilities to accomplish something.
My brothers and sisters, sometimes we find [...]

No Plans for Friday?

The Prophet (صلي الله عليه وسلم) also said, whoever supplicates Allah to send salaat on me once, Allah will send salaat upon him TEN TIMES. What does salaat mean? He also said: Surely, among the best of your days is Friday; so increase in (invoking Allah's) Salaat upon me during it, for your (invocations for Allah's) Salaat (upon me) will be displayed to me. Fill your Fridays with salaat insha'Allah and reap the reward in the akhira.

Following vs. Obeying

Following the Prophet (صلي الله عليه وسلم) is a means for us to gain Allah's Love, but what is the difference between following him and obeying him? Obeying him (صلي الله عليه وسلم) is doing what he commanded and staying away from what he prohibited while following him is the next level--it is adhering to his sunnah out of love for him and wanting to do acts that are not fard upon us just because the Prophet did them. Some examples are ...

A Complete Duaa

We have all heard the duaa many times in our lives: Rabbana aatina fid-dunya hasanah, wa fil-akhirati hasanah, wa qinaa athaban naar, "Our Lord, give us in this world [that which is] good and in the Hereafter [that which is] good and protect us from the punishment of the Fire". But have we ever realized how complete this duaa is? This simple duaa contains everything one would wish for in this life and the next, yet many of us say this duaa without realizing how precious it is ...

The Parable of Spouses and Garments

Allah ta'ala has places many parables in the Qur'an than we can reflect and ponder over them. Of those amazing parables is one that conveys the relationship between a husband and a wife in a simple yet beautiful way; Allah ta'ala says: "They are your garments and you are their garments." (2:187) Compare what our clothes do for us--they cover and hide us, they beautify us, they provide us with comfort--and you will see that a spouse does the same for their spouse.

Earth’s Fill in Gold

Indeed, those who disbelieve and die while they are disbelievers - never would the [whole] capacity of the earth in gold be accepted from one of them if he would [seek to] ransom himself with it. [Surah Al-Imran, verse 91] Think about it. The CAPACITY OF THE EARTH, in gold. How much gold is that? More then you if you win a $200 billion lottery every second of your life.
