Just wanted to correct something in the post however: a graduate from a college of hadith is NOT a muhaddith, nor is a graduate from a college of shariah a mujtahid! In fact, they are not even considered Ulema yet, but rather students of knowledge. Realize that a mujtahid is the highest level of islamic scholarship (à la four imams), and the most recent scholar of this level was Imam ash-Shawkani who died 174 years ago.</description>
